Meet Rudy

Add to favourites

Looking for a hunky-chunky strong fellow to snuggle with? Radiant Rudy is the guy for you! This dreamboat of a dog was found tied up in a park here in West Vancouver. The police heard his cries for help and rescued him quickly, bringing him to us. Rudy was quickly adopted into his new home, and unfortunately has found himself back in our care. Rudy was so loved in his adoptive home, but unfortunately is very fearful and reactive to other dogs and was having difficulties in the neighbourhood. Due to his reactivity Rudy will be needing a home who either has previous experience working with a dog reactive dog, or is eager and willing to work with an Animal Kind trainer. Rudy will likely not ever be a dog park kind of dog. Due to his previous experience Rudy is not suitable to live in an apartment, as running into another dog in the hallway wouldn’t be fun for him. Rudy is a smart, goofy, and cuddly dog who thinks he’s a 20 lbs lap dog. He’s happy to cuddle on the couch and nap or go outside and play fetch. He knows his basic commands and is very food motivated. Rudy loves having a routine and is ready for bed by 8pm. He loves chewing on his toys, rubber balls and loves his snuffle matt. He has never chewed on anything in the house besides his toys and is fully house trained. When he sleeps he likes to bury his face in his blankets and is so cute! Rudy was very popular with the kids in his previous neighbourhood, and loved to greet them with kisses! Rudy does have some separation anxiety and would prefer if his family could be around for a bit while he adjusts to his new home. Rudy can be quite vocal when he’s upset about being left, so practicing short leaving exercises will be key to helping this boy learn that you’re coming back. Rudy is a great dog who would bring joy to any family he is a part of.
