Meet Simon! This sweetheart is eagerly looking for an understanding guardian to provide him with lots of cuddles. Simon has struggled with inappropriate elimination in his previous home. While in care he was treated for idiopathic cystitis which is believed to be the cause of his inappropriate urination. Simon will need a low-stress environment with a consistent routine in order to use his litter box effectively. He may also need to use a specific type of litter and style of litter box in order to feel happy.
Simon has had issues using the litter box in the past though he has done quite well in shelter. He prefers a covered litter box with a clumping gravel type litter. He would do best to have two litter boxes in separate locations in his new home. His current prescription is allowing him to settle into this new environment with minimal stress and anxiety, and this medication could likely be stopped once he settles into your home!
Simon is extremely cuddly and affectionate. He has a very quiet meow and tends to be a silent house guest. When he sees you he will eagerly start rubbing against walls and objects until you pet him. He loves affection!
Simon has lived with dogs before in the past and could live with a calm dog again. He would do best in an adult only home with limited visitors while he settles in. He should be the only cat in his new home to reduce stress related litter box issues. Simon has been an indoor/outdoor cat in the past and could do so again in the right (quiet, low traffic, etc.) neighborhood.
