Meet Francis *bonded To Kermit
Please note due to the current COVID-19 pandemic our adoption process has changed. Please visit our website https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/how-to-adopt/ for more information. All adoptions are by appointment only once we have received an application.
***Due to the high number of applications we receive for our animals, we will only be contacting potential adopters to further review their application. We are not able to call all applicants.***
Current travel restrictions within the province of British Columbia mean that we are prioritizing local (Lower Mainland) adopters at this time.
Meet Francis and Kermit! These two young budgies came into our care after they were surrendered when their owner could no longer keep them. They were initially quite shy and very fearful of hands. Now, they have settled down and love to chirp and groom one another. Since they are still quite fearful of being handled, Kermit and Francis will need a bird (budgie) experienced home that knows how to handle birds and will continue with their socialization. They should not go to a home with small children or with other pets like cats and high-energy dogs. Here at the shelter, they have been in the same room with a cockatiel and seem to enjoy her company so they might do well in a home with another bird (in a separate cage as Francis and Kermit are bonded). Please note that budgies can live to be 10-15 years old and are very interactive. They need to be able to have time out of their cage and housed in a room where their people will spend lots of time in. If you’re a bird experienced person with a love for birds and time to spend with these two adorable birdies, then fill out an application for Kermit and Francis on the BC SPCA website today!
