Meet Xena the warrior princess pup!

Xena has already defied the odds and battled her way back from a very tough start, including a broken rear leg that just had the cast removed. She is now a strong and irrepressible terrier: tough and determined yet still in the baby sweet stage. She is happiest when she can be close to you.

Xena is an energetic puppy, making up for lost time and wants to experience everything her new life has to offer, mostly by putting it in her mouth.
On a good day, she’s pee pad trained, but sometimes her aim is slightly off. 😆

Xena is food and play motivated, a quick learner and very eager to please. She enjoys knowing what comes next in the day’s routine. For the right family, she will be a fun and loving companion.

Right now Xena needs a dog savvy person or family with time dedicated to helping her recover both physically and otherwise from her early life. Ideally someone at home with her most of the day to start. Her leg fracture has healed, but the rehab will require careful attention to ensure she doesn’t re-injure it, including proper care of the skin that was under the cast and physio exercises for muscle strength going forward. She is a fighter, so she should be joining in all the adventures soon enough.

Xena is young and still very adaptable so she would do well with another confident older dog to teach her how to do all things ‘dog’. She has met kittens and did not show aggression, only curiosity. She can be mouthy still, but won’t break the skin, so older dog savvy children will enjoy her too.
