Maven was born in the wild and came into our care when she was just two months old. Although she missed out on some of those important early socialization experiences, she is making wonderful progress and continues to become more confident every week.

Maven is now brave enough to accept pets and absolutely loves being scratched and gently touched once she feels safe and secure. She is also curious about other animals and is currently enjoying life in a foster home with a dog and other cats where she is learning how to navigate the hustle and bustle of a busy multi-pet household.

For now, Maven can still feel frightened and vulnerable when she has access to an entire house. She is much more comfortable and confident in a smaller, quieter room where she feels secure. With time, patience, and plenty of positive experiences, we expect her confidence to continue growing as she learns that larger spaces can be safe too.

Maven’s ideal home would likely be with adults who understand that building trust takes time, perhaps in a multi-pet household with people who have experience with shy or fearful cats. Most importantly, she needs a patient home willing to let her progress at her own pace.

Maven has already come such a long way, and with the right home, we believe she can continue blossoming into a loving, affectionate, and wonderful feline companion. At this time young children would be too much for Maven.

As Maven has not yet been spayed, we will prioritize a local home that can foster her and ensure she attends her spay appointment. If she is still available after her surgery, we will gladly consider applications from outside our area. Her spay appointment will be on October 7th.
