Meet Sophie,

Sophie found her way into our care when her owner abandoned her with a house sitter. After they held her for 3 weeks in hopes of getting ahold of the owner, they contacted the BCSPCA for support.

Sophie is friendly with people, children and animals. She enjoys going on walks and exploring new places, but equally enjoys a quiet night at home. Sophie can be a little possessive over her food and water bowls with other animals so although she is friendly with them outside, she would prefer to be the only animal in the home. She is an affectionate girl, leaning into her people to solicit pets and attention. She hasn’t been too playful in care, but we hope once she feels safe and settled that she will find this comfortable again. She knows many basic commands including sit, shake and gentle. Sophie can be a quite vocal in Centre when other animals are taken out before her, so a home where her guardians work part time from home or have flexibility in their schedule to help her adjust would be best while she is transitioning. Sophie recently had a thorough exam, bloodwork, and urinalysis done and is in optimal health for her age with no medical or dental concerns at this time!

Sophie would make an excellent addition to any family where she can live out her golden years in peace.
