Meet Duke 🐾
Duke is a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with the look of an oversized Golden Retriever and a heart that’s ready to heal.
Duke’s story hasn’t been an easy one. For most of his young life, he was kept chained outside with a choke collar that was put on as a puppy and never adjusted. As he grew, the collar painfully embedded into his neck. Thanks to a Good Samaritan, Duke was rescued and received urgent veterinary care to remove the collar and treat his wounds, along with addressing severe matting. He’s safe now-but he’s still learning what it means to be loved.
Despite everything he’s been through, Duke is an incredibly sweet boy who wants connection. He thrives on companionship and doesn’t want to be left behind again. He can get excited and may jump up when seeking attention, but it comes from a place of wanting reassurance and closeness.

Duke will need a committed adopter who understands that love, consistency, and time will help him blossom. A home with property or space to roam safely would be ideal for this big boy, along with someone ready to guide him as he learns how to just be a dog.
Duke has already survived more than he should have had to-but his future is wide open. With the right person, he has all the potential to become an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
