Meet Horton

Add to favourites

In a home not too far,
Not too big, not too small,
Lives a cat named Horton,
The boldest of all.

He’s a sleek shadow prince,
All in black, head to toe,
With a royal decree:
“Other cats? I say NO.”

For Horton believes
(And he’s quite sure it’s true)
That a king needs a castle
With one ruler – not two.

He dreams of adventure,
Of breezes and birds,
Of sniffable mysteries
Too grand for mere words.

But once he steps out,
Oh dear – what a sight.
His courage goes poof
And he scampers back tight.

So a super‑secure catio,
Sturdy, safe, sealed‑up tight,
Would make Horton purr
With pure Seussian delight.

He’ll peek, he’ll explore,
He’ll sniff every nook,
But give him a chance
And he will write the book
On “How to Escape
When You’re Clever and Quick” –
So locks and latches
Must all be Seuss‑thick.

Still, give him his kingdom,
His space, and his throne,
And Horton will flourish
As king of his home.

He’s loyal, he’s loving,
He’s quirky, he’s true –
A cat with a heart
That’s as big as a Who.

If you’re seeking a monarch
With charm and with sass,
Horton’s your fellow –
A cat with real class.
