Meet Kota
Say hello to Kota!
This guy is loving and goofy, and wants nothing more than to get all your attention and to be doted on. He’s the most handsome, and sweetest guy you have ever seen, and when you first lay eyes on him, it will definitely be love at first sight!
This big goofy guy loves his people and loves to snuggle, always leaning in and putting his body against you for pets and rubs. He will flop down on the ground to show you his belly for rubs. He loves to throw his toys around in the air, and has a blast chasing them around.
Kota loves getting outside and going for adventures, he will happily sniff his surroundings while taking in all the scents. He’s also content to lounge around in the grass, soaking up the sun. Kota is a favourite of our volunteers due to his playful, charming nature and generally great leash manners. He is however, a large guy who is not a fan of other large dogs. He can be reactive and pull on the leash so his new family should continue to use a front clip harness and be aware of management strategies that may improve or minimize this behaviour.
Kota would do best as the only pet in the home, as he does have a prey drive and has not lived successfully with other dogs. Kota would like a fenced area as he would chase cars and bikes etc, and he loves to spend most of his time outside. We know that in Kota’s previous living situation, he had to scrounge for food and may also do this in a home. He lived tied up or confined as an outside dog and hasn’t quite learned his manners for indoor living although he has made great strides and gained more experience.
