Meet Salem

Meet Salem – a quiet little soul with a lot of love waiting to be discovered. 🖤

Salem was found as a stray on someone’s property, and it was clear right away that he needed help. Life hadn’t been kind to him, and he came to us shy, unsure, and carrying the weight of everything he’s been through. But even now, beneath that cautious exterior, we can see glimpses of the sweet, gentle boy he’s meant to be.

Salem has feline herpesvirus, which is actually quite common in cats. For him, it mostly shows up as chronic eye changes and occasional flare-ups, especially during times of stress. It’s not something to be afraid of-just something his future family will need to understand and manage with a little extra care and a lot of love. His eyes may always look a little different, but we think they tell a story of resilience and quiet bravery.

He will be neutered and receive a dental procedure while in our care, setting him up for a more comfortable and healthy future.

Salem is a shy cat who will need time, patience, and a calm indoor-only home where he can feel safe. He may not be the kind of cat who runs up to greet you right away-but for the right person, that first moment when he chooses to trust you will mean everything. Watching him come out of his shell, little by little, will be incredibly rewarding.

He’s what we lovingly call a “project cat”-the kind who asks for a bit more, but gives back something truly special in return. Salem deserves someone who sees past his rough start and believes in the loving companion he can become.

If you have a gentle heart and the patience to let him bloom, Salem is waiting for you. 🖤
