Meet 13 Long John Purrer

Add to favourites

Avast ye land lubbers! Meet Long John Purrer. This super friendly, handsome kitten had quite a rough start to life and is now looking for a life of love and cuddles in a home where he’ll be absolutely spoiled with cuddles.
He came to the SPCA with a group of cats and kittens who were in dire need of help, all very sick with an upper respiratory infection and parasites. With proper care and medication Long John has recovered and blossomed, and will soon be ready to find his fur-ever family. Due to his illness being untreated for so long, one of his eyes is permanently damaged and will need to be removed to rid him of pain. POTENTIAL ADOPTERS MAY HAVE THE OPTION TO FOSTER TO ADOPT WHILE HE AWAITS His SURGERY AND THEN GOES THROUGH RECOVERY. Long John will need to be INDOOR ONLY to keep him safe and healthy with his limited vision.
Being still a kitten he is absolutely bursting with energy and is generally found playing and wrestling with a sibling. It is important to provide lots of toys, scratching posts, and other enrichment to keep kittens happy. Long John Purrer is an incredibly sweet and loving guy, who absolutely loves all the attention and pets he can get. He’s an absolute purr machine. He would likely be fine with other animals and children with proper, slow introductions and will make a wonderful, loving addition to a home!
Long John Purrer and the other cats/kittens that she came in with, were all sick with upper respiratory viruses which are very common in cats. Though his infection is cleared up, there is the possibility of being a carrier for this virus. Because of this, and to keep Long John Purrer healthy, it is recommended he be an indoor only cat, and any other felines in the home are kept up to date with vaccinations. Ask staff for more information.
