Meet Dutchess!
This sweet, senior lady is ready to find a loving home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort and peace. Dutchess has a gentle nature and adores human companionship — she’ll happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give, as long as her boundaries are respected.
Dutchess has been dealing with a suspected flea allergy, which left the skin on her back end a bit sensitive. Thankfully, she’s feeling much better now that she’s on a consistent flea prevention regimen. To help keep her comfortable and healthy, she’ll need to stay on regular flea control in her new home.
She would likely do best as an indoor-only cat, where her sensitive skin can stay protected. That said, she would likely enjoy some supervised outdoor time in a catio or enclosed backyard.
Dutchess needs to be the only pet in the home (she’s earned the right to be your one and only!). She has recently been vetted with a clean bill of health, and is ready to bring love, companionship, and a touch of royalty into her new family’s life.

Keep your new family member safe and keep them inside! Consider investing in a catio or “cat-proofing” your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options for outdoor-loving felines.

The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting.
Some animals may not be viewable due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kitten and puppy meet and greets are by application only. Phone inquires and emails regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized.

*Fees vary by location and are subject to change without notice. Adoption fees are subject to PST (Provincial Sales Tax), which will be added at the time of adoption.
All BC SPCA cat/kitten/dog/puppy/rabbit adoptions include a microchip and lifetime registration with the BC Pet Registry.
Registration for lifetime protection is $45 for cats/kittens/dogs/puppies and $11.25 for rabbits, which will be added to the adoption fee. For more information please visit bcpetregistry.ca
