Meet Large Marge!

Marge is a very sweet and affectionate cat, known for her gentle purrs and love of cozy naps in sunny spots. With her round belly and slow, waddling gait, she’s impossible not to adore. However, because Marge is severely obese, she needs to be kept on a strict diet. Adopters must be dedicated to Marge’s weight loss journey to help her have a longer, healthier, happier life. Though she would happily snack on junk food all day if allowed, excess weight puts cats at a higher risk of arthritis pain and other health issues. Adopters will need to be prepared to coax Marge into some gentle exercise and be careful with her diet. She is currently on a special metabolic diet.

Despite her mobility and weight issues, Marge is still very sweet and loving. She loves being groomed, which is wonderful, as she will need support in this department, as she cannot thoroughly groom herself. She has lived in a home with other cats before but carefully maintaining weight with more than one animal can be difficult. She can not easily move away or jump up high to escape when she is feeling uncomfortable and wants to be alone, so Marge might do best in a quiet home with no other animals, and no children. She is used to previously living in a quiet home with senior humans.

PLEASE NOTE: This cat is located on the Sunshine Coast and travel via BC Ferries is required to adopt. Appointments are preferred to adopt one of our animals. Please speak with shelter staff prior to visiting our branch.
