Meet Hamish! This goofy guy is a 3 year old Border Collie/Staffordshire Terrier mix, searching for his forever home.

Hamish was found as a stray, so we don’t have any history on his life before he came to us. He was underweight and in need of vet care, so it’s likely he had a pretty tough time. Despite this, he is as friendly and happy as could be!

We aren’t sure on Hamish’s breeds, as he has characteristics from multiple potential breeds. He does appear to have similarities to Staffies and Border Collies, but he would need a DNA test to be sure. He is extremely friendly with people, and shows no reactivity to other dogs. He’s energetic and playful, so he’ll need lots of exercise and stimulation to keep him happy.

Hamish was found with a severe case of “happy tail” – A condition that sometimes occurs in friendly, energetic dogs, causing wounds, hair loss, and bleeding at the tip of their tails. Because of the severity of his tail, he had a partial amputation on July 8th, and is recovering well! He does still need a dental surgery, which he will be getting on July 23rd. He will need a recheck 2 weeks after this, at which point he will be ready for adoption. *He is currently available fr Foster-To-Adopt!*

Hamish would love a home where he is with his people for most of the day, because his favourite thing in the world is to give and receive lots of love! With proper introduction, it’s likely he would be ok living with other animals, but we can’t guarantee it. Ultimately, Hamish is looking for a loving, stable, comfortable home with a family ready to give him the life he deserves!
