Jenny is an 8-year-old Doberman Shepherd mix with a big heart and a complex story.

Her life has been full of ups and downs. She was originally rehomed by her first guardian. We know she moved through at least one more home before ending up as a stray on a highway outside Hope, BC. Sadly, no one came looking for her or wants her back. But Jenny hasn’t given up-she’s still hopeful her forever home is out there.

Though her history is a mystery. What we do know is that she’s a resilient, mature dog who bonds closely with her people. Jenny has had a few moments of guarding her space or items while in care. She’s never caused injury and has shown clear signals that she is worried about you touching her stuff. Because of this, Jenny needs a guardian who is experienced with dog behaviour and willing to manage her space, food, and toys appropriately.

She’ll thrive best in a home:
· Without young children, cats, or small dogs
· With someone who understands resource guarding and is comfortable managing it
· As the only dog in the home-while she likes to bark at other dogs through barriers, we don’t yet know if she wants dog friends

Despite her challenges, Jenny is incredibly loving with people she trusts. She’s affectionate, smart, and still full of life. She enjoys walks, puzzles, and quiet time by your side. Jenny may take time to adjust, but once she’s comfortable, she gives her heart fully.

Jenny’s ideal match is someone patient, consistent, and willing to give her the second chance she deserves.
