Meet Tika
Meet Tika – Your Loyal Cuddle Companion
Adoption Counselling Required
Tika is a bright, affectionate young dog who is looking for an experienced furever home. At 3 years old, she’s full of potential and love, and needs a calm, adult-only environment with no other pets, to truly thrive.
Tika bonds quickly with her people and becomes deeply loyal-she’ll happily soak up all the belly rubs and cuddles you have to offer! It’s important that all members of the household build a relationship with her, as she has a protective nature toward her chosen people.
She’s crate trained and even finds comfort in her crate. While she can be fearful in new situations or when meeting unfamiliar people, her behavior is very manageable with patient, positive reinforcement training. A secure, fenced yard is essential, and her ideal home is quiet and predictable.
Tika walks well on leash in low-distraction areas. She may react to birds, squirrels, or cars, but is very responsive when told to ‘leave it’. She is incredibly intelligent and benefits from both physical activity and mental stimulation. She’ll need slow, proper introductions to any new canine friends, as she may react out of fear, especially as she feels the need to protect her owner.
Tika is looking for someone that is commitment to continued training and socialization, and willingness to attend an adoption counselling session in order to support Tika best in settling into her furever home.
If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving, and incredibly smart companion, Tika may be the perfect match for you.
